Created for Issue 1 of Relief journal under the theme 'Class', the piece combines a layered photographic essay documenting material and performance based activities within the studio. 'Talk is Cheap' investigates the form of accent and ideas of classification and display through photographing casts of the inside of the artists mouth. This process has created what Nicolson calls a 'double moment', the casts are formed through a manifestation of accent, the image consolidates and adds further narrative to this moment of self portraiture.
